The 130 day economic blockade led by the United Naga Council will be lifted tonight following the Naga leaders’ meeting with the representatives of the state government. This blockade had crippled the state’s supply lines. The Naga groups had called for a blockade on November 1 last year. They had cut off the two main highways, thereby cutting off supply of essential commodities. Long queues for fuel was seen as a common sight and the price of LPG cylinders had shot up to Rs. 2000 in the black market.
