Siberia’s permafrost thaws to result in big gas bubbles

Siberia’s remote Bely island has been recently experiencing squishy land below their feet. The land has started to bubble in certain places, and now, after extensive research in Yamal and Gydan peninsula 7,000 such gas bubbles have been identified. Researchers have come to an interference that these methane bubbles must have resulted from recent heatwave prompting Siberian tundra’s permafrost to thaw.
