Health to be made a fundamental right – JP Nadda

Union Health Minister JP Nadda has announced that the government is set to making health a fundamental right. This could lead to drugs and health facilities being available to the common and needy people very easily. The Union Minister also stressed the need to decriminalise suicide and has said that this progressive step will be taken by the government. The Mental Healthcare bill was passed in the Rajha Sabha in August last year. It was cleared in Lok Sabha on March 27. This bill also provides for mental health care and services for persons suffering from mental illnesses.
