Drink beetroot juice before exercise to boost brain performance

Studies have shown that drinking beetroot juice before exercising will bolster brain performance. Researchers found that older adults who drink beetroot juice prior to indulging in moderately intense exercise have demonstrated greater connectivity in brain regions associated with motor function, compared with adults who did not. The research team included co-author W. Jack Rejeski of the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. They recently reported their findings in the Journals of Gerontology: Series A.
